Feb. 20 - We exited the trail in Bermejas and were looking at some warblers in a hedge when Cooby and I heard a plane flying low. We looked at the plane and decided it was going to land on the highway. It came lower and lower and I began to worry about the power lines when it zoomed back up in the air. Speculation was running rampant about what was going on when Jesus told us that the plane was delivering the newspapers to this area! Most of our speculation was bordering on the absurd, so we accepted his explanation. It does seem like an expensive way to deliver the paper, especially in a country as poor as Cuba.
