Day 6 - Las Salinas, cont.

Feb. 20 PM - These are only 6 of the Greater Flamingos we saw. Our Cuban ornithologist, Dr. William Suarez, estimated that we saw 500 of the estimated 2,500 that were in the refuge. There were many young birds with gray plumage, but most were adults with brilliant red coloring. They were pretty shy of us, walking slowly away as the photographers among us tried to get closer for better photos.
Once we were done at Las Salinas, we re-boarded the bus and headed back to our hotel at Playa Larga. Next day was to be a BIG driving day.
