Day 8 - Looking for the Oriente Warbler
Feb. 22 Afternoon - Almost the entire crew (missing Jesus, Bruce, Ed, and Lar, who took the photo) is in this picture, although it's a view not many people get in a group photo! We were waiting and hoping to see the Oriente Warbler, a little bird of stunning beauty and a Cuban endemic. (If you'd like to see a couple of photos of this bird, go to www.giffbeaton.com/Cuba.htm and scroll down through Giff's beautiful photos.) The line-up is me at the farfarfar left (apropos, I guess!), Gary, Frank, Ivan, Judith, William, Giff, Carol, Tony, Cooby and Jeannie. (Note - everyone will be identified in the last post which will have a group photo with a proper view of everyone.) We ended up seeing 9 Orientes as they hopped around foraging in the scrubby bushes.
